Club 40 Racing
Club 40 is "spec racing". It is based on planes that are fun everyday sport planes that you will enjoy flying anytime at any field that accepts glow powered planes.
Groups all over the nation are racing Club 40. See www.Club40Racing.com for more information about
this racing class. And visit the Club 40 Discussion forum on RCUniverse.com.
Only two airframes are allowed in
RCPRO Club 40 Racing. The
Sky Raider Mach II ARF or ARC and the
LA Racer 40 ARF by The World Models Manufacturing Company. The engines are limited to sport .40 size non-racing engines with an engine list specifying which engines are allowed. The Thunder Tiger Pro 40 is the recommended engine because it is the only engine allowed in AMA 424 Sport Quickie racing and pilots can re-use their engines when they move into Sport Quickie. The modifications to the airframe are limited and because of the similarity in airplanes, the racing is close.
We worked with AirBorne Models, the U.S. Distributor of The World Models to make solid color Sky Raider Mach II ARF kits and solid color LA Racer 40 ARF kits. We also worked with them to bring an Almost Ready to Cover (ARC) version of the Sky Raider Mach II to the market. This allows you to cover the plane with any covering you want without having to strip the covering off of a covered airframe. So you can easily use a different base color, or use MonoKote, UltraCote, or any other type of covering that you like.
